The Gods Observe in Horror as the Last Buffalo Runs for its Life

$4,500.00

2020
15" x 12" x 4"
Steel

Noah Savett's arresting 2020 steel sculpture bears witness to an apocalyptic moment stolen from time itself. Legend claims the artist briefly vanished in 2013. Photographic evidence shows him near the last great buffalo hunt of 1883, then returning with singed clothing and this vision seared into his mind. The work's brutalist steel construction - oxidized to evoke blood and prairie dust - freezes the final buffalo's desperate flight while its celestial creators watch in paralyzed dismay from the base.

Savett's time-bending perspective transforms this from mere environmental commentary into a multidimensional indictment. The buffalo's emaciated, elongated form appears mid-stride between centuries, its ribcage stretched across timelines. The horrified god-faces emerging from the steel seem to recoil not just from the slaughter, but from Savett's own temporal trespassing. As the artist notoriously quipped: *"I stood in that bloody field and watched the gods realize their mistake. If they invented horror, they can damn well choke on it too. My ex-wives taught me that."

This confrontational work belongs in collections that value art as a battering ram against complacency. The steel's texture suggests both ancient patina and futuristic decay - a haunting effect some attribute to Savett's rumored use of time-displaced materials. Includes certificate of authenticity with the artist's unfiltered statement about "bringing back proof of divine regret."

Warning: May provoke existential dread, furious dinner-party debates about temporal ethics, or the urge to rewrite both history and Genesis. Display where your most pretentious guests can't ignore it.

Note: Gods not included. Buffalo's fate still pending. Time paradoxes sold separately.

Crating and shipping is not included in final price, we will reach out to you to discuss options after purchase.
